I am SO SO excited to share that I have been featured in print for the first time! I have been so blessed to have had my work featured online on several wedding publications such as Wedding Chicks, Every Last Detail, and more, but now I can officially check “be featured in a printed magazine” off my bucket list!
Melissa Stewart, the editor of Coastal Virginia Bride magazine reached out to me back in December for my input and photos of my work for a story on calligraphy and invitations, and how brides can add meaningful details to their invitations using a modern calligrapher. One of my absolute favorite things about modern calligraphy (and this could be a blog post all in itself) is how it bridges the disconnect between the traditional and today’s modern, bright wedding styles. Modern calligraphy gives brides the opportunity to make mom and grandma happy with a traditional, hand calligraphed style, but still keep the fun modern look they’ve been pinning on their Pinterest board with whimsical and romantic calligraphy!
Melissa’s article “Words of Art” shows how brides with a variety of wedding styles can find a calligrapher that matches that look!
You can check out the full article online here which can be found on spreads 10/11 and 12/13!
You can also find the physical magazine locally, it will be at all of the Hampton Roads bridal shops! So while you’re in finding that perfect gown, or picking out bridesmaid dresses, be sure to grab your copy, because they’re going fast!
Thank you so much to Melissa and the team at Coastal Virginia Bride Magazine for including me in this issue! I also want to give a huge shoutout to my photographers Sarah Street Photography and Alisandra Photography for taking such beautiful photos of my work that I’m so proud to have displayed in print. I hope you all enjoy the article!
