You’re engaged! Congratulations. One of the first things swimming in every bride’s head when planning a wedding is “how do I make my wedding memorable?!”. We’ve all seen the beautiful Pinterest weddings, but so often they all look the same. You want to make your wedding day unique! So how do you create a wedding that is sure to leave people talking? Here are a few easy tips!

1. Tell Your Love Story Through Details

One of my favorite ways to make your wedding unique is to use it to tell your love story! Maybe you met while studying abroad, you can use your favorite locations as your table names. You could incorporate your favorite hobbies into a custom wedding monogram to use from your invitation suite until the big day on koozies and menus. Or, you could incorporate your song, or your first dance song onto a calligraphed backdrop or table linen!

2. Put Your Guests First

Hospitality is key when planning a wedding. Guests won’t remember what shade of blush your napkins were, but they will remember if you were late to the ceremony, or you ignored your guests at the reception. Your wedding guests are some of your closest friends and family, who have helped you along your path in life, take time to celebrate with them on your big day! As their host, thank them for all that they’ve done for you throughout your life by being considerate. Provide a sweet little lounge area away from the dance floor for your older guests to relax and chat, or provide a fun coloring station for the little ones.

3. Be Yourself

At the end of the day, this day is a celebration of the two of you. From every unique quirk about you, and all the little things that you love about each other, no two people are the same! Don’t be afraid to show your personalities at your wedding. “Here Comes The Bride” isn’t the only song you can walk down the aisle to! I picked “Better Together” by Jack Johnson, to walk down the aisle to, because I felt like it was more meaningful. Your wedding food doesn’t have to be a generic beef and chicken option, with a starter salad. Serve one of your favorite meals to eat together, your guests will love it!

I hope you are having the time of your life planning your wedding! It can be a very stressful experience, but don’t let the pressure get to you. If you let your big day be a celebration of all the things that make you and your fiance special, you can’t go wrong!
