Something that I think is not often celebrated or given enough attention is the importance of continuing to “date” and strengthen your marriage after the wedding day. To be honest, the wedding day is easy – you’re surrounded by loved ones, wearing a gorgeous dress, and eating delicious food. The hard days come when that stud in the bow tie is snoring at 3am the day before your big meeting, and the cutie waiting at the end of the aisle for you isn’t the best at communication.

That’s why I was overjoyed when Ashton Kelley Photography reached out to me to celebrate a Baltimore, Maryland vow renewal for these two sweethearts. Did you know that “paper” is the theme for the gift your first year of marriage? I created a hand-calligraphed keepsake invitation suite for them to celebrate their first year of marriage. My hope is that they’ll frame it and display it in their home, as a beautiful reminder of their wedding day.

I just love how the greens and deep pinks that they selected for their florals for their day evoke a light, but cozy, eclectic feel. My whole life is light pinks, blues and greens, but I’ve never known how to translate that to a wintery feel – but this hits the nail on the head! Can you say #winterdecorgoals?! I should have known her style would be amazing, isn’t her haircut incredible? She’s SO much cooler than I’ll ever be – that’s for sure!

Seated at the intimate table to celebrate along with them were their best man and maid of honor. I loved creating calligraphy place cards for this dynamic foursome! Although the day was a celebration of their love, it is so important to recognize how your friends and family members have been there alongside you and contributed to your love story.

For dessert, the couple served a gorgeous cake by Sorby Sweets, along with the cutest little macarons that I’ve ever seen. They’re almost too cute to eat – almost! The couple enjoyed a bottle of wine from the vineyard where they were engaged (Barboursville Vineyards, which just so happens to be where my husband and I got engaged as well!) which I think is just the cutest nod to the continuation of their story.

The evening finished off with what can only be described as magical – 10 foot tall marquee letters that spell out “LOVE”.

With a marriage this beautiful, I can’t wait to see where they are in 10 years! Congratulations Kelsey and Daniel!
