The first time I met with Morgan, we showed up at Starbucks strangers and left best friends! They have the cutest meeting story (she DMed him) and I have so loved working with them! To make working with them even sweeter, Morgan is an incredibly talented wedding photographer (check out her work here!)
Morgan & Duke’s vision for their wedding invitations was centered around including their love story, florals, and overall fine art style to give their guests a glimpse into their big day.
One of the first things I do with every couple is to create rough sketches of several different ideas I have for the suite, based on my discussion with the couple. Most couples come in with an idea of what they might like, but don’t have anything exact in mind – and that’s where I come in!
Below are the rough sketches that we started brainstorming with for Morgan & Duke’s suite!
We picked a combination of the second and third options for the invitation, which was a fun way to incorporate both the greenery and florals that they loved!
Perhaps my favorite option, was for their details card. Morgan & Duke have two dogs – Eli, a mini aussie, and Tegan, a jack russell/pit/boxer combination. Since the pups can’t be at the wedding, they had to be included somehow! So we added them to their details card, and I could not be happier with how it turned out.
For Proof One, I always include a pencil sketch of the watercolor design. This helps us all be sure that we are on the same page, before I add watercolor!
Then in Proof Two – my favorite part begins! I add the watercolor, and everything goes from black/white/grey to full color!
Finally, it’s time to take a look at the whole suite together! We paired their response card with a dusty rose envelope, which was the perfect pop of color. Then everything was wrapped up like a present in a light grey envelope, and topped off with white calligraphy and a dusty rose wax seal!
I could not love the way this suite turned out more, and it is the perfect representation of their happy, carefree love story!
